Really wanted to share these poems today. These are from his collection called Love Notes From the Hollow Tree. It’s full of sweet little gems, — snapshots of thought or emotion that left me feeling like I had been made privy to the intimate musings of the tender heart of a close friend. All somehow couched in a tacit tone that leaves an impression not unlike words of encouragement or inspiration– even when the subject is a little bit on the tough side.
I found him by accident, if such a thing exists, so may the Butterfly Effect reverberate far and wide.

When we are born,
we arrive on the shores of a wilderness–
our minds.
We search for shelter.
We tumble into ravines.
We taste the berries that nourish and the ones that leave us
delirious in the mud.
All our lives we struggle to find footing in the forests of ourselves.
There are strange hills inside our thoughts.
Slowly, through messy effort, we become
native to these inner landscapes.
Don’t be ashamed
of your stumbles, your scars, your sleepless nights.
You are here.
Wild and whole.
Learning to map the clouds.

If I can hand you, a stranger, a bundle of words
like warm bread wrapped in cloth,
then this world can’t be all bad.
Happy New Year everyone! May all of your lives be filled with peace, joyful serenity, and Love in 2023 and beyond!
